Quake PreRunner

Since the very day Quake 001 was built we had the desire to go fast off road and judging by the amount of e-mails we still receive a lot of you want to go fast off road too!  

While brainstorming here in the corporate offices of Finishlinewest we were reminiscing about the good old days when we were cranking out Quakes like they were going out of style (eventually they did) and we thought "hey, ya know what?, we never built a PreRunner Quake.  The boss is really into PreRunners and when we asked why he never had one built for himself he mumbled something about being out of Monster and we should all get back to work.

That quasi-conversation got us thinking (something we shouldn't do without proper supervision) and an executive decision was made without the executive around, we should get our hands on a 2WD Expedition and build the boss a Quake PreRunner.  With that kind of ass kissing we should be able to keep our jobs through the summer.

So with all this in mind we procured a 98 2WD Expedition that was in great shape and started to make a list of what goes into making a bitchin vehicle for the boss.

Our first phone calls were to AEM for a Brute Force Intake and Gibson Exhaust for headers and their new "X" muffler so we could order up a helping of "fast", our Expy is a 4.6 version so we will pulling out all the stops so we can build something the boss wont bitch about and that will still be street legal.

Once we had power dialed in we sat down with the folks at Doetsch Tech and designed a suspension for the big SUV that was more on the plush side than the race side.

With power, speed and sound dialed in we needed the correct "look", so we set out to build a bitchin' fiberglass body kit that would complete the package.
